I found this new Album from accomplished Virginia native, N.C. Emcee “Rapper Big Pooh” of Little Brother to be such a dope album! The project is titled “To Dream In Color” and complimentary to the Album Cover, the music also embodies a Colorful sound with its Soulfully pleasant and lyrically thoughtful presentation. The album was executive produced by fellow “Little Brother” Multi Artist “Phonte”, while the production was done by producers like The Nukez, Praise, The Mighty DJ D.R. and more. To Dream In Color was a solid listen from start to close and what I like the most about it, is Pooh’s honesty about his journey (post Little Brother’s initial disbanding in the mid 2000s), as well as some of the individual challenges and experiences he’s had to overcome throughout the scope of his career. My favorite tracks are “Thoughts and Prayers, Broken Dreams, Changing Again and Mother’s Day”, but all the tracks flow well in the scope of the album. This is an album certainly listening through if you appreciate Soulful and Thoughtful Hip Hop. If you’re fan of recent Little Brother Albums, you’ll also appreciate the music of this album! Listen to “To Dream In Color” now available on bandcamp and digital streaming platforms
