The previous month of October gave out a bunch of really dope New Soul Projects. We got new Albums/EPs from The Shindellas, LilBLACKKIDS, Incognito, Soul Personna & Princess Freesia, Brandon Williams, Leela James, CARRTOONS, Terrace Martin & Alex Isley, Mayer Hawthorne, Jamila Woods and more. This list is certainly a solid and amazingly Soulful one. The music is also really diverse interms of the variety of Soul and range of RnB sounds we've come to appreciate over time. One of my favorites on this list is The Shindellas' "Shindo" Album which reminds me of the 90s RnB sound we've gotten from the SWV's, Brownstone's and XScape's of the genre, and even the 80s RnB disco vibe reminiscent of some of Whitney Houston's music. Another favorite project of mine is the amazing Sequel EP from LilBLACKKIDS (Georgia Anne Muldrow and Keith Rice), this EP is pure Soulful Funk and Groovy. A joyous listen! Incognito brings the quality soul with consistency as usual while Soul Personna and Princess Freesia accomplish the same, Brandon Williams sets the mood for romance with the Love Suite, Leela James brings the mature RnB Grooves and Smooth Vibes and Quality shines consistently on Albums from CARRTOONS, Terrace Martin & Alex Isley, Mayer Hawthorne and more. Certainly lots of dope soulful Albums/EPs to come out in October and I enjoy the uniqueness that each one brings musically. Check out my full list below in rank order from 1 through 19.
