Out Da Box Radio is happy to bring you a special interview with Queens bred Emcee “Homeboy Sandman”. We got the chance to speak with Sandman on a number of in-depth subjects, ranging from his initial passion to pursue music, his grind on the come up as an independent Emcee, as well as the benefits of signing to Stones Throw Records. He also spoke in detail about his progression and mature development as an individual, from making healthy dietary decisions, to being a more responsible artist and continuing his passionate work as a writer despite no longer penning articles for the Huffington Post. As the interview progressed, Homeboy Sandman took a moment to give some insight into more project related subjects, such as an upcoming release, compiled with all of his “Out Now” promo tracks. He also spoke on the possibilities of some point collaborating with producer Madlib, as well as his reasons for working with producers like EL RTNC (RThentic) and M. Slago. It was indeed a fulfilling pleasure to build with the brother Homeboy Sandman, he gave some great insight into some really important issues that affect us as a people today, whether it’s the GMO affected foods that we have to be skeptic of today or our generally apathetic attitude towards seeking useful information rather than access to entertainment and sensationalized media, each topic was carefully discussed. Homeboy Sandman’s latest release "All That I Hold Dear" is in stores now along with his RThentic produced “Kool Herc: Fertile Crescent EP” via Stones Throw Records. If you like what you hear, feel free to go ahead and support with a purchase. In the meantime, please take the time to listen to our amazingly thought provoking interview with the man himself and definitely feel encouraged to share and spread the word. Enjoy and Be Inspired!
